Manifesto |
Manifesto 2014 (The South-East Region covers the counties of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex and the former county of Berkshire) The South-East Region sends 10 MEPs to the EU Parliament The proportion of votes cast for each party determines the number of each party's seats. The Peace Party’s Message By standing in the European Parliamentary elections in 2014, the Peace Party will be demonstrating its belief in the European Union as a force for Peace and an expression of the determination of its member nations to put the possibility of war behind them forever. It must never be forgotten that the European Union has put an end to centuries of war and destruction among its members. This is our European Union. The Union is a community of peoples working together to promote mutual understanding both within and outside its borders. In it we are sharingwith each other on equal terms. The Union is the best chance we have of creating jobs, sharing the resources of our corner of the world, regulating free-market capitalism, having the best, publically-owned health care and creating a more equal society. The Peace Party is in the best position to help restore trust in the European Union. The intention of the founders of the Union was to build an economy based on peace, replacing centuries of war. We now have legally-binding framework agreements on the rights of working people. These must be developed further. We must exploit the great benefits that the European Union has delivered in the past and can deliver in the future. |
