An economy based on workers' co-operatives & state-owned enterprises run on behalf of the people. Nationalisation of industry to boost economy & raise standard of living. Investment by the state to end unemployment & increase production. Substantial increase in social welfare spending in ducation, healthcare & recreational facilities. Planned economy to increase standard of living for working people The tax burden to be shifted onto the rich, with direct taxes on working people's incomes reduced. Confiscation of wealth from the rich & windfall taxes on company profits. Eventual withering away of socialist state, and the complete emancipation of the working class through to the higher phase of communism. The importance of democracy & freedom in everyday life, particular emphasis on the freedom of the press and freedom of speech. Bill Greenshields, CP representative on national committee of the People's Assembly outlines a radical new manifesto aiming to inspire a movement for economic justice in the run up to and beyoned, the 7 May general election. The People’s Manifesto was launched on 28 February 2015 by the People’s Assembly Against Austerity. The manifesto makes a compelling and powerful case for an alternative to austerity based on the needs of ordinary people — “A people’s Britain, not a bankers’ Britain.” It calls for a the building of a sustained mass movement to bring that alternative about, rather than simply calling for general election votes.
